Danielle Rovetti

Danielle Rovetti is an abstract texture artist based in Johannesburg, South Africa. After twenty years as a freelance graphic designer working on branding and marketing material, Danielle has returned to painting.

Rovetti’s abstract works examine the dualities of light and dark, rough and smooth, and how these opposing elements need each other to exist. The details reflect shifts in light, evoking a sense of movement and change. Rovetti’s love of texture forms the basis of all her work. The artwork consists of many layers and different mediums, creating a composed depth which is a reflection on the duality of life. The outcome is a representation of the binaries of stillness and movement and the competing forces within nature. Rovetti uses concrete, oil paints, and resin to create both soft and coarse textures within each piece.
