District Gallery

Since 2019, District Gallery has reimagined the traditional gallery experience, creating a boutique art space that welcomes everyone-from seasoned collectors to first-time visitors. Located in Cleveland, we are proud to showcase the work of more than 65 extraordinary artists, spanning from emerging to internationally recognized names.

We believe great art should be approachable, engaging, and available to everyone. Whether you’re drawn to a limited-edition screenprint or an original on canvas, we’re here to help buyers find artwork that elevates their spaces and brings them joy. We are part of several corporate and hospital collections and feel strongly about collaborating with community and community projects.

Our roster features a mix of local, national, and international artists, including Hunt Slonem, David Yarrow, Mr. Brainwash, Russell Young, Alex Katz, Matt Devine, and Brent Kee Young. Their works, and those of many others, reflect the diversity and energy that define our gallery.

You no longer need to travel to New York, Miami, or Los Angeles to encounter world-class art. It’s right here in Cleveland, a city rich with passionate art lovers and savvy collectors. At District Gallery, we believe anyone can be a collector-and that everyone deserves the chance to experience great art.

Gallery Principal | Karen Chaikin

I grew up surrounded by beautiful art. My mom is an artist, and my uncle taught me about collecting. In my previous career, I was a journalist and worked for CBS News’ 60 Minutes. After getting married, my husband and I moved to Hong Kong, and later to Shanghai. During our time there, I witnessed the contemporary art scene flourish, as Chinese artists were finally able to express themselves freely. It was fascinating to observe, and my love for great art continued to grow, along with my collection. After my family moved back to Cleveland, my uncle asked if I would be interested in opening a gallery. I was thrilled at the opportunity, and now, six years later, I continue to watch the gallery grow and thrive, enhancing the walls of homes and businesses with fabulous art.

Gallery Director | Katie Altadonna

I am an alumni of Christie’s of New York and hold a B.A. in Art History and English Literature from Hobart & William Smith Colleges. Working with clients ranging from first-time buyers, new or established art collectors to interior designers, corporate collectors, hotel financiers, and real estate developers, I have the passion and expertise to facilitate art acquisitions, advise collection management, and curate the interiors of public and private spaces. I am inspired by connecting all of my clients to the joy and beauty of living with fine art.

Through my 20+ years of experience in the art world, I have a goal to make every client feel comfortable and enjoy the art buying process by sharing my love of art, arts education and art market insights along the way.

Whether you are a new collector, just stopping by Van Aken, or an experienced art connoisseur, there is something for everyone at District Gallery. Our new gallery space, a vibrant part of the Cleveland arts community, offers a joyful and inspiring environment where connecting people with art is both uplifting and rewarding.

Design and Technology | Lindsey Bradley

I graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an Art and Technology focus. I enjoy creating digital placements for clients and documenting the District Gallery collection on our website. My expertise is creating videos for viewers to connect and to learn about our diverse portfolio of more than 70+ artists.

I love seeing every day how each piece means something different to each person, pulling out an emotion that is specific to them.

Gallery Associate | Kate Luciano

I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a major in Communication and a minor in Psychology. I’ve always had a strong interest in both art and film, which has shaped my creative perspective. The District Gallery is the perfect place for me to combine my passion for the arts with my background in communication.

I enjoy utilizing my organizational skills to help manage and develop our online presence.  It’s incredibly rewarding to be surrounded by the diversity of the artwork here at the District Gallery!

Gallery Designer | Sarah Tuttle

I love how District Gallery is a great space for people to enjoy contemporary art. It’s amazing to see the joy in people’s faces when they come into our inviting space.

My design background allows me to help clients who are first time buyers or avid collectors. I love virtually placing art on people’s walls and seeing their reaction to what pieces can look like on their walls. It’s so fun helping people elevate their homes with beautiful art!
