Carolina Kane is a photographer and mixed media artist based in Cleveland, Ohio. Kane received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2019. Kane has shown work throughout Northern Ohio.
Trained in the fine arts, Kane primarily now works in film, alternative process, and digital photography, as well as photo sculpture. Kane’s work explores the multiple layers of experience that influence human memory, perception, and identity. She frequently combines photographic techniques – traditional and contemporary, in order to examine how place is the intersection of culture, landscape, history, and nature, and has the power to influence individual identity. Kane’s work calls viewers to analyze their own process of perception and interpretation of place, and continuously evaluate and interpret what it means to have an individual, human temporal existence.
